Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur arrive in Dayton by canal boat from Cincinnati and begin their endeavors to begin an all girls high school in Dayton |

Marianists establish the first Marianist school in the United States: St. Mary’s School for Boys. This institution was the first Catholic High School in Dayton and would later become the University of Dayton |

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur open Notre Dame Academy at Ludlow and Franklin |

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur move the all-girls high school to Villa Julienne convent on the grounds of the Barney Estate on Homewood Ave. and begin construction on a beautiful building that today is protected by the Dayton Landmarks Commission. Some students remained at the Ludlow location until 1927 when all of the girls moved to Homewood. They rename the school after the Mother General, Mother Marie Julienne. |

The Marianist purchase the property known as Notre Dame Academy from the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and move the high school students at St. Mary’s Institute to Chaminade High School |
