CJ Wins GCL North, Takes 5th Overall 2/13/2011

Varsity Eagle wrestlers brought home their third and perhaps most meaningful team trophy Sunday after winning the GCL North league meet for the first time in four years, placing 5th overall amongst 12 teams. The following six from CJ placed, four as medal winners:

103 - Lyle Plummer '14, Champion

140 - Josh Marshall '11, 2nd place

145 - Dominic Genovesi '12, 6th place

160 - Tommy Redinger '13, 5th place

171 - Tyler McBeath '12, 3rd place

285 - Lee Hollis '11, 4th place

Congratulations also to the JV team for finishing in third place at the JV GCL league meet Friday.

News: Weekend Tournament 1/15/2011

The varsity team finished in 20th place at the 50th annual Catholic Invitational Tournament in Toledo. Thirty-three Ohio Catholic schools were represented at the two-day tournament hosted by Toledo Central Catholic High School. CJ wrestlers Lyle Plummer, '14, and Josh Marshall, '11, advanced to the finals and walked in the Parade of Champions. Plummer (16-2) placed 5th out of 19 wrestlers in the 103 bracket, and Marshall (18-4) placed 5th out of 25 wrestlers in the 140 bracket. Overall, 11 varsity wrestlers competed for CJ:

News: Week of 12/13/2010

Despite competing with three empty weight classes Saturday at the Xenia Invitational Tournament, CJ wrestlers finished in second place overall to win a team trophy. Individually, five wrestlers placed in the top four spots in their respective weight classes. Up next for the Eagles is Senior Night on Tuesday, Jan. 4, when CJ hosts a JV/Varsity duel with Tri-County North in the gym beginning at 5:30 p.m.

News: Week of 12/09/2010

Varsity wrestlers Lyle Plummer, '14, and Nick Muhl, '11, were each invited to the Graham Southwestern All-Star Invitational Preview held during the first weekend in December. Plummer received recognition for being a state qualifier as an 8th grader last season and Muhl for being a district qualifier as a junior.

At the team's first meet Friday, Dec. 4, the Franklin Invitational, six Eagles placed among the top four finishers in their respective weight class, earning a medal and a spot on the podium:
