Eagles Youth Wrestling Club
The C-J Kid Eagles Wrestling Club just finished up another GREAT season. 37 wrestlers competed this year, representing all of C-J’s feeder schools and several other area schools. Holy Angels was represented by Micah Marshall, Noah Burneka, Ben Johnson, Jazz Keys, C-J Hayes and Jack Moroney. Mary Queen of Peace had David Frederick, Jr., James, Tayshon and JaQuan Lusbourgh from the Homewood campus and Chad Mbah from the Gramont campus. St. Anthony was represented by Spencer, Cooper and Ryder Mullins and Ryan Vaughn. Precious Blood had Julian Thomasson, Marcus Burks Jr, and Tyler Johnson. Our Lady of the Rosary was represented by Branden Cobble, Liam Gavin and Dallas McDonald. St. Christopher was represented by Chris Hellen and Noah Schwieterman. Isaiah Wortham was here from St. Rita, James Dixon from St. Peter and Graham Curry from St. Albert.
Thomas and Timmy McGuire, Shawn Shehee Jr., Nate Kelsey, Matthew Sutter, Winston Emerson, Isaiah Gates, Josiah Dixon, Joe Solomon, Issa McMillan and Alex Plummer all came to us from surrounding public and other area private schools.
Individual awards were presented at the awards ceremony to several different wrestlers. David Frederick Jr., Noah Burneka, Cooper Mullins, Matthew Sutter, Timmy McGuire, Ryan Vaughn and Thomas McGuire each took home an award for Wrestler of the Week from their performances at each given tournament. Jazz Keys had the team high for Escapes. JaQuan Lusbourgh and Cooper Mullins shared the most Reversals. Cooper Mullins and Thomas McGuire shared the most Technical Falls. Noah Burneka had the most Pins and the Highest winning percentage. Timmy McGuire had the most Wins. Thomas McGuire had the most Near Falls, most Take Downs, and took home the Outstanding Wrestler award. All of our wrestlers worked hard in practice and took care of business on Sundays at the meets.
Our wrestlers could not have had such great success if not for the support of all of their parents and our coaches.
