CJ STEMM programming offers numerous opportunities at CJ for all students to explore and experience the worlds of academic preparation and career exploration in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine.  Programs include events and student competitions at CJ, in the local community, at area and regional colleges and universities, and nationwide.  College scholarship opportunities, summer programs, and internship and mentorship programs specifically in STEMM fields are announced, and intended to supplement those announced by CJ Guidance.

No matter what college program or career field you choose, math will count and science will matter.

Welcome to a  new school year.  Here at CJ there are lots of opportunities to explore STEMM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine. Watch the announcments for upcoming STEMM events.

10 Best Ways to Be Successful at STEMM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math & Medicine

1.  Keep the Faith - You Can Do It!

Math and science grades are not always good indicators of success in engineering and science.

Very few successful engineers, scientists, and medical doctors earned straight A's!

2.  Don't adopt bad attitudes about math.

Math and science are fun, applicable to, and evident in, the real world.

3.  Explore careers.

Spend time on hobbies and activities related to science, technology, engineering, and math.

4.  Enroll in a summer program.

Get hands-on experience doing science, technology, engineering, math, and health care

with professionals and college students.

5.  Participate in after-school activities.

National Science Olympiad, Science Fair, robotics competitions, science museum volunteer programs

6.  Learn about STEMM from printed media and online.

Read books, magazines, and college catalogs; spend time on educational websites.

7.  Learn about STEMM from real people.

Interact with family members, friends, friends' parents, and neighbors.

Ask why they chose their STEMM career, and how they got where they are now.

8.  Take educational vacations, and do some educational sight-seeing.

Attend the many programs offered at college campuses to explore STEMM fields.

Get to know admissions requirements, degree programs, and scholarship opportunities.

10. Find a mentor.

There is no better way to succeed in a particular career field than to get to know someone there.

Spend time in their world!  Ask to visit their workplace, job shadow them for half a day.
