Why Do a Science Fair Project?
-
Enhance your college application – Students who compete and receive recognition in a science fair demonstrate a set of skills that sets them apart from other students during the college admission process.
-
Meet students and professionals with shared interests in many areas of science.
-
Win scholarships and other awards at all levels of science fair competitions.
-
Make your merit scholarship application stand out by competing in a science fair.
-
It’s fun! Really! You are discovering and experimenting with the unknown!
-
Learn a ton! Not only about science… also project planning and time management skills, research skills, writing skills, presentation and communication skills.
-
Earn acknowledgment and recognition from peers and professional adults.
-
Go all the way and qualify for the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and win a free trip to San Jose, California and time off from school in May!

Professional Mentors/Sponsors
Through partnership with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), CJ alumni, and the CJ STEMM program, Mrs. Draeger will assist you in finding a local professional to serve as your project mentor and sponsor. This individual will be someone who works, and has expertise, in a STEMM field related to your science fair topic. Let Mrs. Draeger know if you are interested.
WPAFB Scopes for Students Program
Borrow a computer-based digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) system to conduct scientific measurements. http://edoutreach.wpafb.af.mil/ed_outreach/pages/scopes.html |
