
Joe Whatley is a Chaminade Julienne Graduate c/o 2004, and is very happy to back. Mr. Whatley will receive his Bachelors in Music Education with a concentration in vocal music from Wright State University at the end of the fall quarter 2010. At his time attending CJ he was extremely active in all Drama and Choral activities which carried over into college where he was a member of the Wright State Chamber Singers, Collegiate Chorale, and Mens Chorale. He studied at Wright State under Dr. Hank Dahlman, Dr. James Tipps, and Dr. Diana Cataldi. He completed his student teaching with Brody McDonald Director of Choirs at Kettering Fairmont HS. Along with studying classical music Mr. Whatley enjoys being Music Director for several area theatre companies including; Storyteller Productions, Vandalia Youth Theatre, Dayton Playhouse, Dayton Playhouse YouTheatre, and here at Chaminade Julienne including “Little shop of Horrors” and “Little Women”. Mr. Whatley has also served as Music Director for St. Rita Catholic Church and currently at Our Lady Queen Peace Catholic Chapels on Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This year at CJ he will be Directing Liturgical Choir, Assisting in Concert Choir, Music Directing the spring musical, Assisting with the Fall Play, Assisting in the drama class, and directing the newly created pop a cappella group.
