Hello!  My name is Steve Fuchs.  I have been working at CJ since 1997.  I started as a math teacher and eventually began teaching computer science courses too.  In 2007 I became the chair of CJ's Business and Technology Department.  I am currently a member of CJ’s administrative team and am in charge of academics.

I graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and my teaching certificate in December 1996. After teaching for several years I returned to UD and earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2006.  The unique aspect of my Master's program is that I was able to take all of my classes online.

My Master's program was the first time I had taken online courses and I was very skeptical about whether I would have the same quality of education as I would have in a traditional classroom.  To my surprise, I found that I actually had to work much harder in an online course than I did in a traditional course.  Because of that I believe I learned more in my online courses than I would have in traditional courses.  Through my own online classes I found that the opportunity to interact with other people across the United States provided for some great conversations and exchange of ideas that would not have been possible in a traditional class.  As I lead CJ in the development of our own online learning I am focused on including aspects which will allow our students the ability to have the same high quality education online that CJ is known for in its traditional courses.

• I am currently completing the necessary coursework at UD to obtain my Principal's licensure
