Sisters of Notre Dame de NamurFound by St. Julie Billiart in 1804, Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur make known God’s goodness and educate for life. These women, with hearts as wide as the world, show God’s love of the poor through a Gospel way of life, community and prayer. Continuing a strong educational tradition, they take a stand with poor people, especially women and children, in the most abandoned places. Each vowed member commits her one and only life to work with others to create justice and peace for all. The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and the Society of Mary co-own and sponsor Chaminde Julienne Catholic High School. The Orders are actively involved with guiding operational decisions, ensuring that CJ's mission is central in the education of students, and helping fund school operations. Both Orders work with CJ's lay community of educators and administrators and charge them with instiling the traditions of the Orders through instruction and teaching by example through living out the Hallmarks and Charisms of the Orders. |
