  • City Connects School Counselor (Full Time): Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School seeks a full time City Connects School Counselor for the 2019-20 school year.  The mission of a school counselor under the City Connects at CJ model is to help students engage and learn in school by connecting each student with a tailored set of prevention, intervention and enrichment services they need to thrive.
    City Connects, a partnership between Boston Connects and Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School, is a comprehensive model of student support that is aligned with the teaching and learning agenda of the school.   This model is deeply aligned with ASCA National Standards and emphasizes the importance of counselors acting as a hub for all student support activities.  Counselors assess each student and then connect students to needed resources inside and outside of school that help promote students’ academic success and life changes. Counselors are actively committed to eliminating obstacles to learning and achievement.
    Degree Requirements: Master’s degree in School Counseling; additional degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work preferred
    Licensure Requirements: Licensed School Counselor; Necessary Experience; Experience with an organization that utilizes data to guide practice; Data collection and entry

  • Administrative Assistant to the Office of Student Services Chaminade Julienne is seeking to fill the position of administrative assistant to the office of student services for the 2019-2020 school year. Primary duties of this position include maintaining accurate student attendance records, coordinating substitute teachers, answering phones and greeting school visitors, tracking student attendance data, and organizing student lockers and parking permits. The ideal candidate would have experience working in a school environment, experience in customer service, experience working in a fast-paced environment, is bilingual, and is proficient in Microsoft Office and Google. This is a nine month hourly position and reports to the assistant principal of student services.   • Percussion Tech (Part-Time) Chaminade Julienne High School (CJ) is currently in search of an enthusiastic and driven instructor to serve as their percussion tech for the 2019 marching season. “Eagle Pride” is a show band dedicated to entertaining the school and city community during football games, parades, and other community events. The term of employment would be July 1 through November 7, 2019.
    Responsibilities Include: Attending all rehearsals and performances, reporting and communicating with the director, running drumline sectionals (this including warm-up instruction, fundamental development, as well as cadence and show/stand music rehearsing,) assisting the drumline during full group rehearsal (this includes teaching marching technique, and assisting during the drill setting process), write/(re)arrange music as needed for the drumline, assist students in maintaining the care of their instruments.
    Qualifications: Ideal candidates are currently studying percussion, have studied, or are currently performing professionally as a percussion; have successful past experience in marching band (competitive or non-competitive); has a positive, driven and determined approach to teaching; is student centered and solution-oriented. Must be or register to be VIRTUS certified (includes FBI/BCI fingerprints, a onetime online background check and monthly bulletins) as well obtain a current Pupil Activity Permit from the Ohio Department of Education. Please email a cover letter, resume and CJ application to the attention of Debi Schutt, Performing Arts Chair dschutt@cjeagles.org.
     
  • A Cappella Director (Part-Time) Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School seeks a motivated, professional,creative, and dynamic director for their high school a cappella group, Vega. This nationally acclaimed group has been in existence since 2010. They have won numerous awards, including qualifying for the International Competition of High School a Capella at both the regional and national levels ,and been featured on the Best of High School a Capella compilation album four times. It is an audition group open to 10th-12th grade performing arts students. They perform at least four school concerts a year in addition to community performances, events, and competitions. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and leading two rehearsals each week, Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings, from August through May. In addition this person will work closely with the department of performing arts chair and other department staff to create a cohesive and well balanced learning environment for all students involved. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, knowledge of acapella music and individual and group vocal coaching techniques.
