CJ Performing Arts Earns 19 Awards at MVHSTA

CJ performing arts students received 19 awards at the inaugural Miami Valley High School Theatre Awards Showcase on Tuesday, June 11.

“We are so lucky to be in a city like Dayton that embraces and celebrates high school theatre in this amazing way!,” said CJ choir and drama teacher Caitlin Bennett.

The CJ Performing Arts students were recognized in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Production of a Play: A Murder is Announced
  • Outstanding Production of a Musical: Cinderella
  • Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical: Sarah Benson and Chloe Proffitt
  • Merit Supporting Actress in a Musical: Katie Coyle and Natalie Mussin Phillips
  • Outstanding Student Director: Stephanie Chan
  • Outstanding Student Costume Design: Chloe Brzozowski
  • Merit Lead Actor in a Play: Omar Brown
  • Outstanding Sound Design: Brennan Harlow
  • Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play: Chloe Proffitt
  • Merit Supporting Actress in a Play: Sarah Benson and Mia Brown
  • Merit Supporting Actor in a Play: John Muhl
  • Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play: Katie Coyle and Anna Kutter
  • Merit Supporting Actor in A Musical: Brennan Harlow
  • Merit Leading Actress in a Musical: Megan Kramermardis
  • Merit Ensemble in a Musical: Cinderella

Select CJ students were also chosen to perform in the opening and closing numbers of the Showcase and part of the cast of Cinderella performed "A Lovely Night."
