On Thursday, October 9, students learned more about analytical work at the professional level during the STEMM Idol Speaker Series.
Lauren Fievisohn, Ph.D. has more than five years experience as a threat intelligence analyst. Dr. Fievisohn is currently an analyst for [redacted] LLC. and was previously a computer network exploitation analyst at the National Security Agency for three years. Dr. Fievisohn earned her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Tulsa, a MS in cyber operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a BS in mathematics from The Ohio State University.
While in high school, Fievisohn said she knew she had a passion for math, but didn't know where it would lead her. Relatives pointed her in the direction of the NSA, and her interest in cyber security grew from there.
"What I am doing now is something you can do all over the country which is really nice," Fievisohn said. "Depending on what you get in to, you could be anywhere over the country because all companies are making cyber security a priority."
