CJ Philosophy: I believe that Chaminade-Julienne provides an education for the whole student, as educators here strive to reach students on a rigorous academic level as well as a strong spiritual level. Every day, every class begins with prayer to ground us in faith as we explore academic subjects. Simply put, faith permeates everything we do here, and it shows in each of our graduates as they enter the world after CJ.
Having graduated from CJ in 1998, I feel like I have come home to a familiar yet changed community. Once an eagle, always an eagle, but the nest has changed! Underneath, though, the same undertone of faith and community forever resides. My experiences since being a student here, both as a student at the University of Dayton and as a teacher, have prepared me for this homecoming at CJ. UD prepared me well to teach English and my teaching experiences at Lehman Catholic High School, Dublin City Schools, Vandalia-Butler Schools, and UD have provided me with a unique perspective for the CJ classroom. I have taught students of all high school grade levels as well as college freshmen, English language learners, AP classes, honors classes, general classes, and college preparatory classes. Given my unique background, I believe that CJ is the ideal place to teach and I am overjoyed to be here.
