CJ’s college and career program is dedicated to guide all high school students from freshmen to seniors through their academic and career journeys. We start by helping students discover who they are and what they enjoy in order to transform their passions and interests into potential career opportunities. This foundational self-discovery informs their college and post-high school plans, ensuring each student has a personalized path to success. We believe in empowering every student to achieve their fullest potential through personalized support and comprehensive resources.
Students beginning the college and career process with a dedicated staff member early in their high school years build and maintain a consistent relationship of support, which will allow them to flourish in their next phase of life and far beyond.
Freshmen
We kick-start our student’s high school journey with a strong foundation in academic planning. Our team assists with academic course selection and self-discovery through Naviance, ensuring students are well-prepared for the road ahead.
Sophomores
As students move into your sophomore year, the focus shifts towards career exploration and self-assessment through uScience. This aptitude assessment helps identify strengths and connects students with potential career opportunities. Students also begin to have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one college and career consultations to start considering post-secondary options.
Juniors
By junior year, students will begin to have a clearer idea of their interests and goals as they begin to deeply explore colleges and career opportunities. Our program supports junior students with opportunities to meet college admissions representatives, insights into the college admissions process, and weekly emails to keep them on track. Every junior also has the chance to visit a college campus, helping them envision their future and start navigating the path to higher education and life beyond high school.
Seniors
The final year of high school is critical for applying to colleges, securing scholarships, and solidifying plans. During senior year the college and career department provides an intense focus on the college application process. Step-by-step guidance through FAFSA and scholarship applications is provided to assist students in making crucial connections to their next steps.
