College and Career Coordinator (Full Time)

Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School is seeking a College and Career Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year who will be responsible for implementing and evaluating a comprehensive post-secondary exploration and planning program for students in grades 9-12. This position will partner with teachers, school staff, and parents in advising students on their post-secondary educational paths. Ideal candidates will have experience advising students in a diverse high school setting. 

Your Responsibilities: 

  1. Collaborate with CJ counselors to prepare and develop a post-secondary plan for each 12th grade student
  2. Inform and educate students, parents, and teachers about the steps needed to complete the college application process 
  3. In collaboration with CJ counselors and the Student Activities Coordinator, design and implement regular advisory lesson plans to assist students with college application preparedness.
  4. Develop and implement career/college engagement and awareness programs for students in grades 9-11
  5. Manage the school’s college and career readiness software (i.e. Scoir)
  6. Lead parent engagement sessions for topics such as college planning and completing the FAFSA
  7. Attend college articulation events and engage in best practice information gathering for college admissions processes
  8. Schedule and organize college rep visits to CJ
  9. Coordinate the Junior College Visit program
  10. Coordinate the annual Sophomore YouScience programming with Sinclair partnership
  11. Coordinate college access mentoring programming (i.e. College Promise, Bottom Line)
  12. As requested and as time allows, meet with individual students and/or parents to discuss college and career topics
  13. Collaborate with the school counseling office team to submit student materials for the college application process (i.e. transcripts, letters of recommendation, testing information)
  14. Organize, promote, and distribute career engagement opportunities
  15. Organize, promote, and distribute college scholarship opportunities 
  16. Coordinate the Flyer Promise interview and selection process with the University of Dayton
  17. Collect, analyze, and report post-secondary student plans and student scholarships data 
  18. Network with the local ESC, local colleges, and universities to help publicize college information nights to CJ students
  19. Coordinate annual “What’s Next” Celebration for May 1 College Decision Day
  20. Participate in the annual Whole Grade Review process with the school counseling staff
  21. Co-plan and implement the summer Aileron Student Leadership Summit
  22. Attend monthly school counseling department meetings
  23. Other duties as assigned by the principal, or his/her designee

Your Qualifications: 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, secondary education, counseling or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in providing college/career support to students
  • Understanding and experience with guiding students through the college application process
  • Understanding and experience with guiding students through the scholarship search process and financial aid steps
  • Experience with Catholic education and an appreciation for the Marianist and Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur charisms

Reports To:

The college and career coordinator reports to the school counseling department chair, and works closely with the assistant principal of academics, school principal, and administrators of partnering organizations.

The success of the College and Career Coordinator will be judged against the following performance standards: 

  1. Demonstrated effectiveness in meeting the listed general responsibilities.
  2. Demonstrated effectiveness in successfully guiding students to complete applications for post-secondary opportunities and scholarship opportunities.
  3. Student and parent satisfaction with the quality preparation for college and career opportunities.
  4. Demonstrated growth and development professionally.

Evaluation and Review Process

The College and Career Coordinator will have at least one evaluation annually with the school counseling department chair or his/her designee. The coordinator will also be expected to complete an annual growth goal.

Time Requirements

This position is a school-year based position (180 days) with an additional 10 days of summer preparation and planning. Daily hours would be 7:45-3:15pm Monday-Friday. Some hours outside of this time will be required for specific event and programming needs.
