Chaminade Julienne is pleased to announce that Jenna Legg will serve as the school’s director of ministry and service, effective for the 2025-2026 school year.
Legg grew up in Mason, Ohio, where she participated in the Marianist LIFE program through St. Susanna Parish as a youth and young adult. After graduating from Mason High School, Legg attended the University of Dayton for undergraduate and graduate studies. She has worked in ministry at the high school, college, and young adult levels.
“Before CJ, I served in high school and college campus ministry, parish youth ministry, and vocation work,” said Legg. “Each of these activities and experiences has immersed me in the spiritual lives of young people and the Church.”
Legg began her career at CJ in the fall of 2022 as a religion teacher, teaching classes such as Catholic Christianity, Scripture, and Justice and Morality to grades 9-11. Legg, along with others in the religion department, collaborated to rewrite the curriculum to follow the new Archdiocesan standards.
During the 2024-2025 school year, Legg stepped up as the interim director of ministry and service, where she worked with the Student Activities Team to plan faith-based enrichment and Soar activities. In this role, she also organized special events, including Junior Service Fair, Make a Difference Day, and Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, giving students the opportunity to serve and grow in their faith. Legg also helped coordinate all school Masses and retreats for different grade levels and for the faculty and staff, all while continuing to fulfill her teaching responsibilities.
“Jenna is an excellent faith leader,” said Greg Mueller, CJ principal. “CJ is blessed to continue to see her leadership develop in this role. She combines her passion for the Catholic faith in the charisms of the Marianists and Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur with her lived experience in Catholic education.”
Now stepping more fully into her Director of Ministry and Service role, she looks forward to an exciting future for the department, with more time and energy to devote to its growth and impact as she transitions out of the classroom next year.
“Moving forward,” said Legg. “I envision Ministry and Service integrating deeper into the student experience rather than being a separate department or club. Students should encounter God on the football field, in biology, during SOAR, and rehearsing for the musical, not just on a retreat.”
“We should all feel fortunate to have someone like Jenna leading our school’s efforts in ministry and service,” said Mueller. “Jenna’s deep personal sense of Catholic faith and her leadership vision, matched with her organizational skills, make her a wonderful candidate for this role on CJ’s Ed Leadership team. I look forward to seeing her vision and ideas for student faith development impact students’ lives for years.”
