Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School will graduate 162 students from the Class of 2026 on Monday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at the University of Dayton Arena.
The class of 2026 will attend 46 different colleges or universities in the fall. 96 members – over half – of this class have been awarded over 610 scholarships to date with a total value in excess of $28.1 million.
Four members of the class are enlisting as Active Duty service members in the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, six members have been selected for the Army and Air Force ROTC or the Air National Guard, and one student has accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point to serve our country and our national interests.
During their four years at Chaminade Julienne, the class of 2026 completed 13,861 hours of community service. Based on information from the Independent Sector, a leading resource for nonprofit organizations, an hour of service can be valued at $33.49. Therefore, the class of 2026 has provided service worth $482,254 to agencies that need this support. There are 33 students serving more than 100 hours during their time at CJ.
Fifty-six members of the class of 2026 are graduating with distinction due to their qualified weighted grade point average:
- 22 students will graduate with Summa Cum Laude status, having achieved a career GPA above 4.24. Those students are: Michelle Aniebo, Julia Cannon, William Clark, Mia Di Biase, Eva Godbey, Brynn Good, Paige Harsman, Madeline Keyes, Aidan Kohlbacher, Quinn Koproski, Cora Markiewicz, Evelyn Powers, Christian Pullins, Alicia Rains, Joseph Sabbagh, Anthony Schneider, Elizabeth Stouder, Avery Theibert, Cassandra Vo, Adelyn Woessner, Ethan Wurst, and Callie Yunger.
- 20 students will graduate with Magna Cum Laude status, having achieved a career GPA between 4.00 and 4.24. Those students are: Clara Arias, Lily Bihl, John Blust, Margaret Bush, Olivia Cristiano, Iliana Dann, Gunner Davis, Sofia Gabrielli, Isla Gilman, Maya Hodge, Haley Johnson, Nathan Kargl, Claire Lawhorn, Johanna Matota, Ruby Perez-Mediola, Anna Mlazovsky, Landon Scott, William Scott, Reese Thomas, and Jake Whitt.
- 14 students will graduate with Cum Laude status, having achieved a career GPA between 3.75 and 3.99. Those students are: Yaindhi Duran Samiento, Marjorie Ingles, Aubrey Kolton, Lilly Lastowski, Ryan Mitchell, Zoey Osenbaugh, Tamryn Paplios, Andrew Pendleton, Camden Pullins, Kelly Stewart, Tianna Turner, Sarah Volz, William Ware, and Carter Westendorf.
The National Merit Scholarship Program named William Scott as a Commended Student.
The CJ faculty and staff also recognized three seniors with annual awards that best exemplify the three pillars of the school’s mission:
- For his commitment to faith, dedication to learning, and demonstration of school and family spirit, Egide Bahati received the Founders Award.
- Given to a student who has regularly demonstrated intellectual curiosity, Paige Harshman received the Michael D. Trainor Award, named in honor of Chaminade Julienne’s principal from 1999-2004.
- For best exemplifying the Chaminade Julienne spirit, Isaac Sullivan received the Gerard “Fuzzy” Faust Award, named in honor of the legendary CJ teacher and coach who served from 1933-1980.
Additional accomplishments from the Class of 2026 included:
- Paige Harsman received the OHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award
- Devin Donaldson and Aubrey Kolton received the OHSAA Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award
- Deng Majack received the OHSAA Courageous Student Award.
- Egide Bahati and Janae Cain received the OHSAA National Federation High School Award of Excellence
- 35 seniors who were members of the National Honor Society
- 33 seniors who were Presidential Academic Award recipients
- 9 seniors who were Presidential Achievement Award recipients
- 32 seniors who remained on the honor roll for 15 consecutive quarters
- 9 seniors who completed three years of the Project Lead the Way program
- 13 groups of seniors passed with distinction for their Senior Capstone Project.
- Five students received the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy. This is awarded to graduating seniors who have demonstrated high levels of proficiency in English and at least one other language in the domains of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in both languages.
