CJ Fall Sports Wrap-up

The fall athletic season was marked by impressive achievements across CJ sports programs, with athletes demonstrating dedication, skill, and team spirit.  

“As we reflect on our successful fall sports season, we celebrate not just the victories but the resilience and determination displayed by our teams,” said Anthony Turner ‘04, athletic director.  “Our athletes demonstrated an unwavering spirit through every challenge and obstacle, proving that adversity is merely a stepping stone to greatness. They soared on eagle’s wings, embodying the strength, unity, and perseverance that define our sports program. Together, they have shown that there are no limits to what they can achieve with hard work, dedication, and a shared commitment.”

Football 

The team finished 4th in GCL play with a 2-3 record, 5-5 overall. The Eagles received a number 12 seed in the OHSAA playoffs which takes the top 16 teams of each region. In the first round of the playoffs the Eagles defeated the number five Bellfountaine Chieftains 44-28 in the first round of the playoffs. The Eagles move on to the second round of the playoffs to play the #4 seed London Red Raiders on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.

1st Team: Joe Hudson ‘25, Colin Kadel ‘25, Nydrell Wright ‘25, Aiden Lowery ‘25, Devin Donaldson ‘26

2nd Team: Elijah Berman ‘26, Kegan Fowler ‘25, Caelon Russell ‘25, Ethan Stacey ‘25, Xavier Donnelly ‘26, Eric Daniel ‘26

Honorable Mention: Malaki Ringer ‘26, Jeff Blair ‘25.

 

Soccer  

Both the boys and girls soccer teams advanced to the district finals, each finishing as District Runner-Up. Their performances were a testament to their season-long dedication and perseverance.

Boys Soccer GCL All-League  

1st Team: Zach Wolking ‘25  

2nd Team: AJ Yates ‘26, Joey Zimmerman ‘25  

Honorable Mention: Sam Campion ‘25  

Girls Soccer GCL All-League  

1st Team: Maggie Bush ‘26  

2nd Team: Cara Cross ‘26, Bailey Hawkins ‘25  

Honorable Mention: Lilly Kandel ‘25  

 

Girls Volleyball  

The volleyball team made an impressive run to the district finals, also finishing as District Runner-Up and adding to the strong fall season.

Girls Volleyball GCL All-League  

1st Team: Alexis Bumah ‘25  

2nd Team: Reese Thomas ‘26  

Honorable Mention: Catherine Hartley ‘25  

 

Girls Tennis  

The girls tennis team had a milestone season, winning the GCL championship for the first time in five years. Freshman Ansley Violette ‘28 achieved the outstanding feat of qualifying for the state finals in singles. Coach Jim Brooks was honored as GCL Coach of the Year for his leadership.

2nd Team: Olivia Parisi ‘25, Francesca Gongora ‘27, Celeste Acuna ‘25, Evy Powers ‘26  

Honorable Mention: Addy Hubbard  

 

Boys Golf  

The boys golf team reached districts and placed second in the GCL. Paul Kolton was named GCL Coach of the Year for his impactful guidance throughout the season.

Golf GCL All-League  

1st Team: Ben Kolton ‘25, Charlie Schinaman ‘25  

2nd Team: Carter Westendorf ‘26, Michael Cartone ‘26  

Girls Golf  

The girls golf team showcased their competitive drive, with Penelope Tischer ‘25 advancing to districts and earning a spot on the GCL second team.

 

Cross Country  

Both the boys and girls cross-country teams had strong showings in the GCL. The girls’ team had a 2nd All-League finisher in Molly Schoen ‘26, while the boys’ team had Daniel Lehner ‘26 on the 2nd team and Preston Goff ‘25 on the 3rd team.

 

Congratulations to all CJ athletes, coaches, and teams for their incredible accomplishments this fall. Your hard work, talent, and teamwork have made CJ proud!
