Five Chaminade Julienne Class of 2025 Graduates Are Military Bound

May 29, 2025

May is Military Appreciation Month and we are proud and grateful to everyone in our Chaminade Julienne community who has chosen to serve in the United States military.

Five recent Chaminade Julienne Class of 2025 graduates have boldly decided to join the military. Coming from different backgrounds, they shared a sense of purpose, a desire for discipline, and a commitment to something greater than themselves.

Jadan Ware ’25 has been selected for the United States Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at Central State University.

“I decided I wanted to join the military the summer before my junior year,” said Ware. “I felt amazing about the opportunity because it meant I could help people, which I’ve always wanted to do. The chance to serve my country made the decision feel even more meaningful. I’m doing ROTC through college, and after graduation, I’ll join the military as an officer.”

Brenden McGarry ’25 has committed to the United States Coast Guard Reserves while attending the University of Dayton/Sinclair Academy.

Tiffany Gonzalez-Anastacio ’25 will serve in the United States Army Reserves while attending Wright State University. Gonzalez-Anastacio completed basic training before her senior year at CJ. Read more about this here.

Joseph Guevara Murcia ’25 enlisted as an active-duty United States Army soldier and plans to attend Wright State.

“As a kid, I thought tanks, fighter jets, and machinery were the most amazing things I had ever seen,” said Guevara Murcia. “During my freshman year, my mom told me that my grandpa had tragically died in the war while serving the country. My grandfather’s military service during the war demonstrated the respect, resilience, strength, and courage U.S. soldiers must have to fight for our country. I was sad and intrigued by his story, thinking about how one dedicates one’s life to defend the freedom given to United States citizens. My dad also served in the military — I didn’t believe until I saw a photo of him in a military uniform — which was so cool. Inspired by them, I decided to carry on the family tradition of serving my country.”

Jennifer De La Cruz ’25 enlisted as an active-duty United States Army soldier. Her report date is in July.

“I decided to go into the military because it was an opportunity for discipline,” said De Le Cruz. “I have wanted to do this since I was in middle school. My junior year in high school, I officially pursued this path. I feel honored as a young Latina woman to be able to serve my country. I know that if I can serve my country, I could do anything I set my mind to.”

“For younger CJ students, I would say to reach out to a local recruiter and at least give it a shot to learn and see how the military can benefit you and your future family.” Guevara Muria.

“We are proud of these five Class of 2025 graduates joining the military,” said Greg Mueller, Chaminade Julienne principal.  “We thank them for their service. We know that they will serve our country with honor. God bless these young men and women.”
