Chaminade Julienne announces the return of Marcus Colvin as head football coach. Colvin, who previously led the Eagles for a decade, brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to CJ’s tradition of excellence. After his success at CJ, Marcus served as the head coach at Beavercreek High School for two years.
Wanting to return to the Chaminade Julienne community, Marcus accepted the role of CJ’s assistant director of development, in which he has served since August. Working with the football program was not part of his reason to return; however, when CJ began the search for a new head coach in November, Colvin felt called to apply and is grateful to have been selected and continue to “breathe the oxygen” of this school and now, the football program — two places he feels most at home.
“It’s just an honor,” said Colvin. “When I first started 13 years ago, I just wanted to coach. Maybe it’s maturity, maybe I’m more sentimental today, but I’m humbled to be chosen to do this work. I’m most excited to meet the players, shake their hands and work with them to create the standards by which we will journey forward.”
“Coach Colvin’s ability to connect with student athletes is a sight to see,” said Anthony Turner, athletic director. “He genuinely cares about CJ and the community, is a great ambassador of the school, and he loves football. Just as he is those things for CJ, he is those things in his personal life as a husband and father. I am excited to see the amount of success that comes to the football program under his leadership.”
The program under Colvin’s lead begins with weight training in January following Christmas break.
