New School Year – New Faces, Meet CJ’s New Faculty and Staff

Keysha Alexander is the new Administrative Assistant for Greg Mueller, CJ principal. She is a parent of two current CJ students. Alexander previously worked in government service as the Administrative Assistant for the City of Miamisburg. Alexander is a current Montgomery County College Promise Mentor.

Allison Bertke ‘21 is our Spanish teacher. After graduating from CJ, Bertke went to UD, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education, Foreign Language, Spanish. She is the younger sister of our English teacher, Amanda Bertke ‘14.

Jason Bleijerveld is teaching Language Arts at CJ Middle School. He came to us from Our Lady of the Rosary. Bleijerveld graduated from Ohio State University and Huntington University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.

Kateri Dillon ‘12 is one of our English Learner teachers at CJ Middle School. She is one of the Our Lady of the Rosary teachers who are now working at CJ. Dillon has a Master’s degree in English – TESOL concentration and was a Former Pulse program participant. She is the daughter of the head of our religion department, Dr. Tim Dillon.

Eric Gillespie is one of our newest Cuvilly program teachers. This Citadel grad most recently worked in Springfield City schools as an Intervention Specialist. He has a Bachelor’s in Education: Handicap, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, both from Wright State. Gillespie coaches football.

Matt Girardin is our new interim dean of students. He comes to CJ with years of experience, both in K12 and higher education, including time in public schools and in Catholic education. His experience includes teaching, coaching, counseling/mentoring, athletics administration, admissions, and career advising. Girardin’s last role was at Wittenberg University, serving in their admissions and athletics departments. 

Laura Harman is also an English Learner teacher at CJ Middle School. She most recently worked at Centerville City Schools. Harman has a Bachelor’s in Education, ELA, and social studies from Ohio University.

Kathleen Hytla is a new teacher in the CJ’s Cuvilly Program. She will be supporting both CJ Middle School and CJ High School students. She most recently served as the supervisor of Special Services at Huber Heights City Schools. Hytla is a UD graduate with a Bachelor’s in Intervention Specialist and a Master’s in Educational Leadership.

Jenny Koesters ’85 is joining CJ as the assistant to the office of student services. Koesters has prior school experience, including serving the West Carrollton City School District for 13 years and as a College Promise Mentor. 

John Morgan is one of our new Religion teachers. He graduated from St. Joseph College of Maine with a Master’s of Theology and is currently in the graduate program at UD for a Doctorate of Theology. Morgan is a musician at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Kathryn Morys is our new school nurse. She is joining the CJ community this school year through the Premier partnership. She is a Beavercreek High School graduate who attended Wright State University, earning both her Bachelor’s degree and School Nurse Certificate. As a nurse for 14 years, Morys worked at Soin Medical Center for almost 10 years in several areas, including ICU/critical care, ER, and Radiology. This will be her 3rd year as a school nurse.

Marcellin Mutuyimana is our new Math teacher. He recently returned from overseas, where he served as a vice-principal at the Abu Dhabi Vocational and Training Institute. Mutuyimana received his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Wright State and a Master’s of Arts in math education from Georgia State University.

Robert Peterson is also a Religion teacher. He is an Alter Grad who graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology.
